Where is the Best Place to Invest in Real Estate Right Now?

Updated: Feb 13

As a New Jersey based real estate investment outlet serving lenders nationwide, finding the right location that you want to invest in is absolutely crucial. But it's not just about the location of the property, there is also the logistical issue of transporting raw materials via construction as well as communicating, commuting, and negotiating with workers, managers, and lenders. Overall, the equation in finding the right property is going to have to include some logistical variables on top of the aesthetic and economic variables already in play. So with all this in mind, where is the best place to invest right now?

Probably the most important variable to take into account, especially when negotiating with a private lender or investor, is the economic one. The economic variable relates to the property that can produce the best profits, the fewest amount of costs, and has a good market standing in the near future. Aside from the locational factors, most of these concepts should be pretty straight forward in building a strong and profitable investment portfolio. But where is the best place to invest?

Well, technically speaking, you can find a good investment property almost anywhere as long as certain factors and variables fall in line. Because at the end of the day, it's all in relation to the land and the building itself. Everything else should be extraneous. You can break it down and look at it from a state, county, or street level, but those are going to be more general statements. However, if we look at it from a state level, at Stratton Equitties, we have found success in the following areas: California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Texas.

Each of these states are thriving right now in terms of either economic prosperity or potential. In these states, we have served numerous clients and successfully produced profits for many of them. We apply the same logical, economic equation to each of the properties in these areas and we have found a surplus of markets to which our borrowers take advantage of. Overall, we have found that these states serve as the best marketplace in the U.S. when it comes to real estate investing, which is why we have established additional regional departments in those areas to focus harder within those markets and to help keep the flow of interest clients moving.

Aside from an economic angle, there is also the aesthetic or sentimental variable that can come into play when looking to invest in real estate. Often times, people are drawn to a specific property, neighborhood, or city to which they want to invest in. They are still utilizing the same economic principles that we use elsewhere (max profits, minimize costs); however, they are simply working alongside a meaningful passion or ambition that fuels them. This could come in the form of investing in your own home, a previous home, or the home of a relative or friend, investing in a community or neighborhood to which you have a personal or meaningful connection to, or even investing in a particular architectural design or geographically based appeal (i.e. mountain houses and brick-based exteriors).
